When setting up email client software e.g. Outlook, Thunderbird, eM Client etc. you may need to enter port numbers, this may need to be desktop computers as well as mobile phones. Fortunately there are only a small set of default email port numbers, so if one number doesn’t work you can easily change to another.
You will only need to use either POP3 or IMAP port numbers, you would never use both at the same time. IMAP is now more commonly used than POP3 so if in doubt setup your email to use IMAP.
IMAP Port Numbers
You should always use the port numbers which use SSL or TLS.
